The City of Cincinnati has proposed a modern streetcar system that will link the city’s riverfront with its central business district, the Uptown medical and university district, and the Cincinnati Zoo. As part of the ongoing public advocacy efforts for the project, a simple, easy-to-read map of the proposed streetcar system was created to show the initial route and its proximity to local attractions and job centers. The map has been widely published on pro-streetcar websites, and was favorably featured on The Urbanophile blog by Aaron Renn.
In addition, a “No on 9” banner graphic was created for the free use by pro-streetcar blogs and websites to advocate the successful defeat of a proposed charter amendment in 2009 that would have prohibited the city from spending any funds for the construction of the streetcar or any other form of passenger rail.
